I hope this doesn't sound irrelevant on this language forum, but I am looking for an online collaboration tool to use in tutoring some students to help make ends meet. I registered for the TeachVirtually free six month Beta version trial on the speakitall.com home page. It's a powerful system but I am looking for something totally free (TeachVirtually is for a fee after 6 months). I also liked WizIQ but found that it had its limitations.

Would you happen to know of any other free resources?

Thanks in advance

I always get confused on whether I should use the verb Tener (to have) or the verb Estar (to be)!

Because both can be translated to make sense in English as "I am" (as well as the verb Ser, but that one isn't as confusing).

Let me use examples...

For saying "I'm hungrey" you'd say "Tengo Hambre" (I have hunger)

But for saying "I'm sick" you'd say "Estoy Enferma" (I am sick)

When do I know when to use one over the other?

Verlan is the inversion of syllables in French words. T

I have found that is used sometimes in internet forums and chat mostly by younger people. I also hear it in movies sometimes. But is it becoming mainstream? Is it common for people to use this type of language everyday?

It can get very confusing having to recognize words and sentences that have been verlanised. A few words here and there is ok, I don't mind having to learn some of the common ones. But I don't want to have to translate everything in my head from verlan to French while someone is talking to me. Do native French speakers feel the same way about verlan?
